Theatre and Performing Arts Festival
Eka Arts Uganda worked with the festival to promote young creatives in the performing arts through a competitive festival. We offered volunteering services to mentorship workshops, master classes and sponsored winners to help young creatives, especially young girls and women: 2024 and 2025.
Across both 2024 and 2025 editions, our team delivered intensive stagecraft workshops, voice clinics, and script analysis sessions. We directly mentored emerging writers and actresses, providing career steering, audition coaching, and financial sponsorship to festival winners to turn artistic passion into sustainable livelihood.
The Acting Arena
EKA Arts Uganda partnered with Yenze Theatre Conservatoire to produce The Acting Arena, a premier show that pulls young actors onto one platform to showcase their talents before producers, casting directors, and industry stakeholders. Actors compete for a prestigious cash prize. 2025.
The Acting Arena serves as an unmissable launchpad for raw East African acting talent. Through high-stakes live auditions and performances, participants gain immediate industry visibility, direct feedback from veteran directors, and career-defining placement opportunities in television, cinema, and theatre productions.
International Theatre Institute
Eka Arts has partnered with the International Theatre Institute-Uganda Chapter (ITI) to organize International World Theatre Day and the Inaugural Uganda Theatre Excellence Awards. We handled workshops like the Women In Theatre Conference and Physical Theatre where we presented our acclaimed play 'Love From Zimbabwe'.
This strategic alliance connects Ugandan performing artists to global cultural standards. Our collaborative forums empower female playwrights, technical stage directors, and youth performers while honoring legends through the Theatre Excellence Awards to inspire the next generation of storytellers.
Chronicles of Gitta (Protege Media)
Eka Arts received a proposal from Protege Media seeking sponsorship for their show fronting young creatives and young women. The director is a young woman and most of the cast was young. Eka Arts stepped in to push a passionate team of young creatives to build something that directly improves their livelihood.
By backing Chronicles of Gitta, Eka Arts provided production funding, rehearsal space, and media equipment. This initiative underscores our core philosophy: placing young women at the helm of storytelling, creating dignified creative employment, and producing inspiring, high-impact cultural content.
